The IT Side of Things

I don't think the general population of people actually know how to use a computer. I can say this because I am a IT Technician working a pretty sweet gig. Really, I love my job, I get paid to play with computers all day long. I deal with computers in the city I live in and in another two cities that are a flight away. I'm just in the background doing my thing and everyone respects me because well, if you make me mad you know your computer will suddenly start having problems ha ha. The only problem I have with my job is the 'user' problem. I don't usually complain about the incompetence of the people in this company but today I will. The last phone call I had was from one of the other cities so I had to instruct them what to do. I knew it would be a loss cause when I asked him to restart his computer and he didn't even know how. After finally explaining to him how to restart it I decided to do a remote connection to his PC once it booted back up. That is only today's example, you would not believe the calls I get and I honestly have to ask them if there computers plugged in and guess what? Its not! Last week I replaced a persons monitor and then the next day they called me saying the new one wasn't working so I went over there and guess what? It wasn't turned on! The list can go on and on but you get my point. People suck at computers and some of them shouldn't even be aloud to own one let alone work on one. That's my daily bitch I feel much better now :)

To Early for Halloween Planning?

What are you going to be this year for Halloween? I know it's still over a month away but if you're making your own costume, like I am, then it's coming up real quick! This year I am going to be the 'Hamburglar' while my friends are being other various McDonald's characters. We have it all down pact from Ronald to even the little fluffy ball things that are in that crazy McDonald's family. I will post pictures of the party and perhaps the making of the costume as I have not even started it yet! But for your (and my) entertainment I've included a awesome home made picture of this kids costume. How freaking sweet it that? The kid is Mario and he's riding Yoshi! Yoshi just happens to be my favorite Nintendo character ever, I think I smell next years costume brewing already :)

Bad Pictures

Have you ever in your life had a really terrible picture taken of you? I'm almost certain everyone has had one of those 'oh man that's a bad picture of me' moments but what about when its a professional picture. I thought the picture to the left is a very good example of a professional picture gone wrong, very wrong. This man clearly loves his cat.. a lot! Everything in the picture from the hair to the cat is ridiculous. I'm not saying you shouldn't love your cat but this is a little extreme, I personally am a cat owner and I would never even think to do this. I'm sure this guy takes this picture very seriously but I wonder when he looks at it if sometimes he thinks 'oops that was a strange idea.' Either way I just wanted to show everyone this picture as it is very humorous to me.

Another Number One Christmas Kids Toy

Once again I find myself on the Internet finding the most ridiculous things. Here is another very real, very horrible kids toy. I don't know if this one is any better or worse than the last toy I posted. At least the last toy encourages kids to get a job, maybe striping isn't the best job but its better than teaching kids to be cat killers. I believe that certain things effect kids for when they grow up, I really hope toys have no effect. Again, I must say humanity is setting itself up for doom one kids toy at a time.

Get Rich Quick

Anyone know of how? I sure don't, if I did I would be rich and very rich at that! What makes me blog of this today is my overwhelming junk mail that builds up in my hotmail account. Most offering me a bigger wang (to replace my non existing one) or diet pills and even the odd one telling me I won the lottery. Today I got a huge amount of 'Get Rich Quick' ones proclaiming that they know the secret to getting rich and you know what I believe them. Why would I be so gullible you ask? Well I don't believe they are going to tell me how to get rich but I do think they know how they, themselves, can get rich. Its a fairly simple idea and I suppose I could do it too but I'm sure there is some kind of consequence for getting caught. I really think the secret to getting rick quick is to scam people into telling them you can give them the secret to fast money for a price. That price is going to those people who are, you guessed it, getting rich off of others people money who are trying to get rich. In short there is no way to get rich quick unless you are running some kind of scam. The only way to get rich in this world is to work hard, be born into money or even win the lottery that's it.

I wish this was a joke but this is a real toy found in a toy store near you. I really wonder what kind of marketing people decided this was a good idea? I'm sure this toy won't last long and if it is a number one seller this Christmas we are all doomed.

How True Is This?

I Feel Like...

Ripping my Lego insides out... But really I do feel like going in to a corner and hiding there until today is over. I'm not one to complain about my life but something today just needs to give. You know the feelings of Stress? Disappointment? Anger? Then you can relate. To summarize my entire day, Work Sucks and Arguing with a Loved one sucks even more. I'm pretty sure everyone knows what I'm talking about when I say please can this weekend come sooner!! I guess I'm just having the Friday work blues.

This installment of 'Different' Tattoos is a creepy/gross one. Again it's not one for me personally. The work on it is really good with the effect that it looks real but real=gross. Every time I look at this one I get a little bit of the hebbie gebbies. I don't know what type of person it takes to have such a creepy tattoo but hats off to whoever got this, I hope you still like it because you're stuck with it!

What a day! I guess it's either the end of the world or the luckiest day ever. You would think 07/07/07 would be the luckiest day ever but I'll ignore that. So lets talk about this 'magical' day. First off I'm not sure yet, I'll have to wait till the end of the day to be certain, but the world didn't end today. That one is ruled out already with an obvious point we all can see. Now about today being the luckiest, I also think it's not or at least I didn't get any of this luck. I'll tell you about my day, I woke up at 7:15AM as usual for a week day. I arrived at work at 8:00AM and everything was going the same as it always does doing my usual morning reports then a field job came up. I guess I should explain that I work for a Car company that owns nine dealerships with me and one other person in the IT department for it, I do other things too but it's to hard to go into. Anyways, I go to the computer that I'm going to replace and I'm pretty sure this computer was the devil because it did not want to give me any data off of it. To make a long story short, I had a hell three hour morning with one computer that should have taken a half hour tops to swap out. That doesn't seem very lucky, the rest of my day went something like that too. So the only way I will even consider this day to be lucky is if I get 'lucky' tonight. I won't keep you posted on that but it's the days only chance left for being lucky. So in conclusion today is just another regular day, maybe we'll die maybe we'll get lucky, it's the same everyday.

'Different' Tattoos Part One

Remember connect the dots when you were little? Well apparently this girl does too and while it is amusing connecting those dots on her leg it must lose it's magic after awhile. I mean really you can't always be connecting those dots and if the dots aren't connected it looks... well.. stupid. Interesting idea but not for me, each to their own I suppose.

Labour Day Classic...

Today is a BIG day when it comes to CFL football! Today there will be thousands and thousands of Saskatchewan Roughrider fans cheering for there home team to win in what is known as the Labour Day Classic. What is this Labour Day Classic? Well it's a game between my home team the Riders versus our arch Nemesis the Winnipeg Bluebombers that happens every year on Labour Day long weekend and it's to get bragging rights for your team. Either your a Rider fan or a Bomber fan there is no way to be both. With the thousands of Rider fans you better believe that my city is being slowly taken over by these Bomber fans you can see them everywhere in there blue jerseys. But green will over power blue when it comes down to fans in the stadium there is no doubt about that. All us Rider fans can do is hope and have faith that our team will bring home the title of being Labour Day Classic champions once again.

Camping!!

I'm going camping this weekend.. what's better than camping you say? Nothing. I'm going to get my camp on and there is no one who can stop me :D Where I live we don't have any crazy forest fires so I don't have to look out for any crazy attacking fire trees. Forest fires are terrible though, especially the ones that are caused by peoples own stupidity. So before I head out to the lake for some awesome camping remember kids if you are in the forest don't be stupid and start an accidental fire. I guess I should just say "Only YOU can prevent forest fires!" ha ha have a great long weekend you crazy labour workers! I know I will!

Cell Phones & Driving

Today my government is going through the process of banning cell phones while driving. A quick google search will show you that all over the world this is happening. My feelings on the subject is that yes, it should be banned but it won't work and here's why.. first of all police can barely crack down on drunk drivers, I know this is a fact because if they caught all the drunk drivers then there would not be a parking lot full of cars at a bar and when closing time comes around these cars would not leave. We've all seen it, those people you see drinking away at the bar and then hopping in their cars afterward, it's a sad fact but it's true. Another reason is, although not very strict laws in Canada, smoking marijuana is still a crime and I know that people smoke weed while driving all the time where I live. I could go on but I'm sure you get my point, if they can't catch those illegal things how are they going to catch every person on their phone especially when you can text out of sight. So although this seems like a good idea it is not going to change anything people are still going to do what they want and perhaps an unlucky few will get a ticket and learn a lesson but with 82% of the population having cell phones it is impossible to catch all those cell & driving users.

Another Reason I Dislike Twitter

I'm not a fan of Twitter, it just doesn't seem like fun. I do, however, have an account I wanted to check it out you know see what all the hype was about. Well after about a week of using it posting a total of 12 'Tweets' I decided I was over it and left the world of Twitter. Then wouldn't you know it I actually had someone I wanted to follow. So I hop on to Twitter sign and to my surprise get a nice little red box message on my homepage saying my account has been suspended for 'strange activity'??? What does that even mean? Maybe they sensed my dislike for it and banned me. Whatever the reason for this I don't really care if they give me back my Twitter, really, its not like I actually used it. I'm mostly curious as to what I did, I sent an email to them, hopefully I'll find out in the next 30 days, that's how long they say it takes to process, ha ha, I'll keep you posted.

I Was Late For Work Today...

Lucky for me my boss was very understanding after he found out why I was late. He is such a nice guy! I do have to admit this obviously did not happen but if it had I'm sure this wouldn't fly no matter how nice my boss is he's not an idiot, I wonder who this would work on? Perhaps my mother would fall for something like this, not saying that she's an idiot, I'm just saying, well now I don't even know what I'm saying. Anyways, do you know anyone who you think would fall for such a lie? Maybe its not believing that it's true but just having a sense of humor and letting the person get away with it. Yes, that's what I was going to say about my mother, ha ha, of course it was!
